  2.          LLOCAL10.EXE      MA and Time Calculations

  4. This group of files was designed to insure accuracy in various amateur
  5. satellite calculations.  They are not necessary for successful operation,
  6. but they can enhance most operations on Oscar 13.
  7.  
  8. All of these calculations can be done easily on a hand calculator.  The
  9. programs were written for the computer to increase accuracy, not speed.
  10.

  18. The programs take into account timing errors in the satellite's
  19. computer.  They are satisfactory for short term predictions. (Practice has
  20. shown several months accuracy).  An ongoing program of time calculations  
  21. should increase this accuracy for long term predictions.  Stay tuned.
  22. The satellite clock was corrected by one minute in April of 1991, and
  23. these programs reflect that correction.

  25. The source code is NOT available.  This has nothing to do with proprietary
  26. rights.  I don't want to be embarassed by my "spaghetti" code.

  38. SATCALCS.TXT----This file.
  39.  
  40. ADDHOURS.EXE----Entry is hours, minutes, and seconds.  Adds them.
  41.  
  42. SUBHOURS.EXE----Entry is hours, minutes, and seconds.  Subtracts them.
  43.  
  44. DECHMS.EXE------Converts decimal hours to hours, minutes and seconds.
  45.  
  46. HMSDEC.EXE------Converts hours, minutes and seconds to decimal hours.
  47.  
  48. MACALC.EXE------Converts Keplarian factor "Orbits per day" to 
  49.                 minutes/phase angle(MA count).  It then calculates total
  50.                 time for an operating period based on MA units.
  51.           
  52. ORBITNO.EXE-----Used to determine the orbit number.  Entry is the date and 
  53.                 an observed event time.  This can be from any up to date 
  54.                 program, or for increased accuracy an actual observed
  55.                 event.  Round off to nearest orbit number, and confirm with
  56.                 an event prediction.
